Journal Description: Acta onomastica (formerly Onomastický zpravodaj), the only Czech onomastic journal in the Czech republic, is highly appreciated by both Czech and foreign scientists. It was founded in 1960 by V. Šmilauer and Jan Svoboda. At first, five volumes were published every year, at present only one volume of ca. 300 pages is published yearly. The journal has a wide network of Czech and foreign contributors, both linguists and non-linguists. The original articles, reviews and reports published in Acta onomastica are related to all fields of research of proper names.

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the FULL TEXTS of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The most recent Impact Factor for Acta Veterinaria Brno is 0.448 according to 2013 Journal Citation Reports released by Thomson Reuters (ISI) in 2014. The scientific journal Acta Veterinaria Brno is dedicated to the publication of original research findings and clinical observations in veterinary and biomedical sciences. Original scientific research articles REPORTING new and substantial contribution to veterinary science and original methods that have not been submitted for publication elsewhere are considered for publication. A written statement to this effect should accompany the manuscript, along with approval for publication by the author's head of department. The authors bear full responsibility for the contents of their contribution. Book reviews are published, too.

Journal Description: Anthropologie – International Journal of Human Diversity and Evolution is a journal of 'four field' anthropology, publishing original articles from all areas of anthropological sciences. The journal is interdisciplinary, wishing to combine insights and approaches from across the biological anthropology, archaeology, and social anthropology. The journal features papers in a wide variety of areas, including bioarchaeology, human variability and adaptation, palaeoanthropology and hominid evolution, human biology, human ethology, primatology, prehistory and archaeology, prehistoric art and social and cultural anthropology. The journal was founded by Jindřich Matiegka, Professor of Anthropology, Charles University, Prague, on the suggestion of and with financial support of Dr. Aleš Hrdlička in 1923. Matiegka edited 19 volumes (vols I-XIX) until 1941 when the University was closed by the Nazi occupants. In the 1962, the journal Anthropologie was restored by Professor Jan Jelínek, widely known and internationally recognised Czech anthropologist, with a subtitle 'International Journal of the Science of Man' (volumes numbered from 1 in arabic numerals).

Journal Description: APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS publishes original research papers of high scientific level in mathematics that are directed towards applications in different branches of science. The areas covered are: engineering problems (such as mechanics of solids, fluid mechanics, electrical engineering, kinematics and similar), solution of differential and integral equations related to applications, numerical analysis, mathematical physics, optimization, probability, and mathematical statistics. Journal Description: La revue internationale rénomée Byzantinoslavica a été fondée en 1929 par la Commission d’études byzantines près de l’Institut slave à Prague. La revue est consacrée aux études byzantinologiques. Les Byzantinoslavica s’intéressent non seulement à tous les problèmes de la byzantinologie en général, mais surtout aux relations de Byzance avec le monde slave. La revue s’attache à suivre le développement de l’Empire byzantin et des nations qui appartiennent, par leur civilisation et leur histoire, au monde byzantine, dans un large courant (l’histoire, la philologie, l’archéologie, l’histoire de l’art, l’histoire du droit, la philosophie et la théologie). Les Byzantinoslavica comprennent des articles, des études critiques, des notices et des comptes-rendus publiés en français, russe, anglais et allemand. La revue s’est parut deux fois par an; en 2000–2002 la revue a été suspendue et depuis l’année 2003 elle se paraît une fois par an en volume de 400 pages comme le fascicule double.
